Every year I get the opportunity to photograph the Lincoln Grand Prix. A cycle race that’s part of the HSBC British Cycling National Road Series, which is a series of races that tours the country with each race giving points that go towards an overall title at the end. I photograph the Lincoln race for the local news website The Lincolnite and have the privilege of being able to use the media cars the event put on to take us around the course and drop us at various points to get all the shots I wanted to get. The following is an extended gallery from the one on The Lincolnite’s website which can be seen here:
It’s great to work with suppliers who care about photography and in particular my own work as a photographer. Recently I’ve built a great relationship with one particular supplier, Italian based photography album maker Graphistudio. This week I went to visit their UK office to learn more about the products they produce. Read more about my trip…
When it comes to weddings we all love making things special. One of the things I think gets overlooked is the wedding ring itself. It’s fair to say that most of us are tempted to head for the nearest high street jeweller and find something that ticks most of the boxes but after meeting Rona Mackenzie & the team at David Fowkes Jewellery, I’ve learned that creating a ring that fits you perfectly in terms of style and comfort is not only achievable but can be a really rewarding experience.
“Art is everything you can sense plus whatever craps in your head” …reads the back of one of the protester’s jackets as he listens to a poem read out to the supporters on the steps of the Usher Gallery in Lincoln. The end of a protest march up Lincoln’s High St to oppose the councils plans to change a large part of the Usher Gallery.
This week I had the opportunity to take a look at the new Luminarium: Qodlumin, a unique temporary structure that tours the globe giving an out of this world experience to visitors. Find out how I photographed it and the challenges I faced in the alien inflatable environment.
This is an alternative angle of Lincoln 10k run to that which I photographed simultaneously for The Lincolnite. It’s a more raw view of what happened and focuses more on emotional side of the runners taking on the challenge of the 10k. Captured from a documentary approach, this gallery shows the moments I saw unfold that were too subtle and would feel out of place in a gallery on a news website.
It’s the first wedding preshoot of the year! I’m so excited to kick off the wedding season with a bang and this shoot was just what I needed! Lindsey and Kyle are due to be married at the start of April
