As most of you will know my photography work spans the full spectrum of genres. When I’m not working on weddings I’m shooting editorials or creating for commercial clients. The variety of photography work allows me to try different styles and bring ideas used in one area of photography into other.
For the Lincoln 10k run this year (the 6th or 7th I’ve photographed now I think for The Lincolnite) I thought I’d approach the event from two angles. The standard editorial angle I captured as normal and can be seen on their site here. But I simultaneously captured the event from a documentary approach to show the other moments I saw unfold that were too subtle and would feel out of place in a gallery on a news website. The following gallery is an alternative angle of the event. It’s a more raw view of what happened and focuses more on emotional side of the runners taking on the challenge of the 10k.
It’s the first time I’ve done anything like this so if you like it, let me know and I might do some more of these blogs in the future for other news stories and events I cover.
