Kirsty & Charlotte’s Wedding

My first wedding of 2024 and it was a new venue for me too! The Ashbourne Hotel in North Killingholme was a fantastic little venue nestled in a small village near Immingham, Lincolnshire. It has a cute little garden space for photos which they’ve made look really nice despite it being fairly small. Inside is a great space for the ceremony and reception which comfortably fit all the guests.

The staff were particularly fantastic and really helpful. They took care of everything and looked after the wedding party and guests and made the day feel special. They took care of me too. Arranging food and a space for me to back up my images. We had fantastic weather for March with bright sunshine which made it pleasantly warm for the photos outside in their cute little garden space!

I started the day with Kirsty who was getting ready in one of the hotel rooms with Poppy Stubbs who was doing the make up for Kirsty and the bridesmaids as well as the mums. She was really relaxed and everyone was very calm which you love to see on the morning of the wedding as it makes everything less stressful for everyone involved!

Charlotte was also getting ready at the hotel and had her best people with her. She had some awesome gifts for them including some custom Pokémon cards which were so cool. Josh (who I also went to school with brought some cherry flavour mead which was really nice and sweet tasting! Once they were ready we went to the ceremony room which was decorated in this lovely foliage which made the aisle look really unique. As we had two brides both walked down the aisle along with bridesmaids and the ceremony was conducted by a lovely celebrant who delivered one of the most lovely ceremonies I’ve witnessed. Full of laughter and smiles!

From there we went outside for group photos in the sunshine while the finger food came out. The Ashbourne had great staff that made sure the brides had some food as we were doing photos at the time. Not many venues do this so it was lovely to see them being taken care of! With the photos done the speeches commenced and they were all really great. Some amusing stories, a helping of jokes and poignant moments thanking the important people for their help in bringing about this celebration. It was a real family event and everyone had a lot of love for Kirsty and Charlotte which is awesome to see. I wish them all the best for the future and I hope to be back at The Ashbourne soon!
